Mark Haines  (2nd picture from top) has recently been appointed as the new captain/coach of our Premier League 1 and 2 squads. We have high hopes that his leadership and talent will help carry us through to another Pennant in 2011.

West Lakes is currently the toast of South Australian bowls after defeating Grange in the Bowls SA Premier 1 grand final at Ascot Park. Congratulations to our 16 players for an excellent performance on the day. Many thanks to all our Sponsors for their tremendous and continued support. 

We also congratulate our Metro 3 West Red side for winning a Pennant as well.

As a direct consequence of winning the Premier 1 Pennant, we have been invited to represent SA at the upcoming National 5 a side competition to be held at the Helensvale Bowling Club (Surfers Paradise) between Sep 5th and 10th. We will try to do our Club proud at this prestigious event. The players selected were Mark Haines (captain) Neville Rankine, Don Dunstall, Joshua Chopin and Phil Cunneen.

West Lakes Bowling Club - affectionately known as "The Lakers" is one of the Premier Bowling Clubs in the Adelaide Metro area. The club competes in the Saturday, Wednesday & Thursday League conducted by Bowls SA. The League caters for both men and women and the season extends from October to March. West Lakes enjoys Premier 1 status on Wednesdays and Saturdays and provides 15 teams in the Bowls SA metropolitan competition.

While the game of bowls is gradually becoming a sport played by younger generations, it does provide enjoyment whether you are five or ninety five. Qualified club coaches provide free assistance to all players to improve their skill level, or to the newcomer interested in commencing an association with the game.

West Lakes enjoys 3 first class greens, a friendly atmosphere and excellent clubrooms as part of the Lakes Sports & Community Club complex.

Importantly the game is played in varying formats throughout the year and throughout Australia.
