Welcome to the Waverley Park Hawks 2015 season to all our returning players and also especially to our new players and their families. The following contains some important information about what is happening and what you may need to do before the season commences in April.
Team Information
After a successful Registration Day last Sunday, the club will begin the process of allocating players into respective teams over next few weeks.
For those new to the club, the younger age groups (Under 9 to 12) teams are allocated based on primary school and friendship groups. Once teams have been allocated you will be contacted via email by the club as well as your coach regarding pre-season training arrangements. Note that due to ground availability and waiting for council approval to use our own grounds, most of our younger age groups will not commence training until March.
The older age groups (Under 13 to 17) will have already or will shortly commence pre-season training at various venues and you should have been contacted by your coach regarding these training arrangements.
The Under 13, 14 and 15 teams are subject to a selection process as outlined in the club's Team Selection Policy. Team Selection Nominations for the Under 13, 14 and 15 age groups need to be completed as soon as possible. All Under 13 players (both new and returning) are required to complete a nomination form. Only new players and returning players wanting to change teams for 2015 need to complete a nomination form. Links to the online forms are available below.

Playing Dates and Practice Matches
The season will kick off on the weekend of April 19 which is the weekend at the conclusion of the first week of Term 2. For the complete list of the season's playing dates please refer to the SMJFL 2015 Playing Dates document. Note detailed fixtures won't be available from the South Metro Junior Football Leagueuntil the week of the first round.
The club is busy organizing practice matches for all teams on the weekend of April 11/12. So try to keep these dates free. More information will be available once we have approval from Council to use the ground and the schedule of matches is finalized.

Mouthguards
For those of you who ordered custom fitted nouthguards on Sunday, these will be delivered to the club in late February/early March. The club will then arrange distribution of the mouthguards to players at training via their coach and/or team manager..
Auskick Rebate
The club offers a full rebate of Auskick fees to new players to the club who continue on with Auskick . Simply complete the online Auskick Rebate Form to apply for the rebate once you have paid your Auskick fees.
Communications
The club utilises a vast array of communication tools to keep our players, families and supporters up to date with all the latest club information.
Our primary tools are via regular club e-mails (of which this is one), weekly newsletters during the playing season and the club web site. Please let the club know if you for some reason you have changed e-mail address - the simplest way is to send an e-mail our to the club's e-mail address, info@wphawks.org.au with your change of details including the old e-mail address.

In the off season we have also increased our presence in the social media space and now have Facebook and Twitter accounts. So if you are active on Twitter and/or Facebook like or follow us to be kept abreast of all the latest from the club.
