League Women - Eagles Vs Uni Rebels

Last game of the season before finals and the Rebels women come out firing with a 27 - 2 lead. The early jump lead by Ieasha Friel (8) and Kayllah Motlop (10) was a sign of great defensive pressure from the team. Coach asked the girls to challenge themselves work on things leading into finals. With such a big lead it gave opportunities to the team. Dustie Mare was strong on the rebounds and provided opportunities under the basket. Patricia Graham and Chantelle Lee as alwayswas solid on defence and showed great leadership. Rebounding from last week narrow lost Rebels womens were 87- 32 winners. it was a great team boosting game leading into finals. With 11 players Rebels rotated the bench giving ladies a rest and get some run into everyone's legs. Jacinta Friel stepped up and had a strong game finishing with 14 points. It was a family affair on the scoring table with Patricia (16), Ieasha (19) and Jacinta all getting double figures.

 

League Men - TV Jets Vs Uni Rebels

Uni Rebels Mens cruised past TV Jets last Thursday night starting the first quarter with a 20 to 15 advantage going into the first break. The points kept rolling for Rebels Men's and clamp down defensively and was able to extend lead to 43 to 27 to end the first half. Rebels kept the momentum going in the third quarter and saw young Rebels U16's sharp shooter Mixon Laurel hit 5 three pointers to help Uni Rebels finish 76 to 47 in the third quarter. Led by Captain Jake Kirby (18pts) and supported by Mixon Laurel (15pts), Adrian Murphy (13pts), Eric Klenke (13pts) and Jason Nwisienyi (10pts); Uni Rebels was able to maintained the lead and win the game 93 to 61.
