LEARN TO SCORE

Basketball requires officials of varying skills and without these people involved we wouldnt see such things as live scores and statistics taken in many of our organised competitions. Whilst we all have a general idea of how scoring works, it can be quite overwhelming if it's your first time having to fill in a scoresheet or to operate a 24 second shot clock.  Come along to a short introduction course.
Please ensure you have registered online and handed in your Sports Voucher to the DBA office or Ticket Office.

Bring the family down for some quality League action - Thursday/Friday and Saturday night games!

Please be advised there is NO SMOKING in and around the venue including the caretakers residence.  The smoking area is out the front near the electrical box.
Please refrain from bringing outside food and drink into the stadium.  Exceptions will be made for dietary requirements.  Basically it costs your Association every time an outside purchase is bought into the venue.  This may be in cleaning costs and also loss of revenue.  The DBA canteen is a source of income that benefits ALL members.  This is significantly reduced when people frequent other commercial venues, so unless they are a MAJOR sponsor your dollar spent there is affecting YOUR club.
Be careful with your use of Social Media.

To all clubs, members, officials, players, parents and spectators. Social Media has become an important part of our lifestyles and at times we can forget just how far reaching. A recent incident has unfortunately highlighted this for us. Please understand, that as an Association we have a zero tolerance policy to derogatory comments on Social Media. It is up to all of us as individuals to ensure any bad behaviour is not condoned. As clubs we, need to ensure we are sending the right message to all our members and their family and friends. This type of behaviour is not acceptable. As an Association, if Social Media is being used by one of our members as a vehicle to drive hate, derogatory comments or for bullying, wewill take take appropriate action.

INAPPROPRIATE SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT For illustrative purposes, DBA is likely to consider the following engagement in Social Media as inappropriate:
a) Using discriminatory, defamatory, abusive or otherwise objectionable language in content;
b) Accessing, downloading or transmitting any kind of sexually explicit material, obscene or pornographic images, violent and/or graphic images (without medical purpose);
c) Accessing, downloading or transmitting information on the use and construction of weapons, explosives and/or other tools of violence or terrorism;
d) Accessing, downloading or transmitting any material deemed to be illegal under Australian Commonwealth or state law;
e) Accessing, downloading or transmitting hate speeches and/or racist material;
f) Breaching the reasonable expectation of privacy of a person;
g) Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the computing resources of the DBA, affiliated clubs or members personal details; and

5.5 Player Conduct
(i) Technical fouls – any player or coach who accumulates three (3) or more technical fouls during a season is automatically suspended for a period of one (1) competition week. For second and subsequent breaches of this Bylaw, the penalty shall increase by one (1) competition week for each breach. Example; (a) For second accumulation of three (3) technical fouls the penalty shall be two (2) competition weeks (b) For a third accumulation of three (3) technical fouls the penalty shall by three (3) competition week, and so on.
(ii) A penalty handed down under this clause shall commence from the date the last technical fouls was issued.
(iii) A competition week includes the final series if a player or coach is eligible to participate pursuant to Bylaw 19.
(iv) Penalties imposed under this Bylaw shall carry across different competition seasons. For example, if a player or coach accumulates enough technical fouls in Season A to be penalised two (2) weeks, but there is only one (1) week left in the Season A competition for them to participate, then the player or coach shall be suspended for the first week of the following season, whether it be the same calendar year or whenever the player or coach next elects to participate. (v) Any suspension received under this Bylaw must be served prior to the player or coach participating, and is not subject to any appeal review. (vi) To determine whether a player or coach was eligible to participate in a competition in order to satisfy a period of suspension, a player must have their name on the stadium scoring system as per Bylaw 13 or a coach must have in writing from their club/team, confirmation of their appointment as coach
Please try and buy your game tickets BEFORE commencing your game.  The ticket office will be closed before half time in the last game and the Court Supervisor is only able to sell tickets on EFTPOS.  This is done for safety and to reduce overheads of ticket office which directly affect future fee rises.
Please do not bring bubble or chewing gum into the venue.  It is dangerous to play whilst chewing and will certainly NOT help keep the courts in great condition.
If you want to catch some special moment/action pics - have a chat or contact Leslie Robinson for team photos.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
