Eagles and Wicked Win Grand Finals

The B Grade grand final between Eagles & Blaze was a close game at half time with Blaze in front by 1 point (8-7) but in the second half the Eagles, led by Ben Noonan, managed to take the lead to win 19-15. The A Grade grand final saw Wicked outscore Blaze in the first half 22-6. Dion Reweti and Dion Sanderson continued the dominance in the second half to win 38-23. Lots of photos in the gallery

Grand Finals 23 May 2013

Grand Finals for this season will be played at PCYC Nerang, Cayuga Street next Thursday night starting at 6pm with B Grade, 7pm scratch match and the A Grade Grand final game starting at 8pm. The games promise to be exciting with all players keen to win the coveted Wicked and McNeil Cups. Spectators are welcome, entry is free and there is good off street parking.

Preliminary Finals Results

In the preliminary finals last Thursday - B Grade Eagles came from bottom of the ladder defeating Rollers 16-10 to win a spot in the Grade Finals again Blaze. In the A Grade preliminary final Blaze, who were ranked 3rd at the end of the rounds beat Lions 35-10 to play Wicked in the Grade Finals. Grand finals games promise to be hard games with all players keen to win the Wicked and McNeil Cups.

King's Christian College Support Rollerblaze

The staff and students of King's Christian College recently held a bbq to support Rollerblaze - raising an amazing $500. The fund raising event was organised by Ben Grice a student at King's and one of our players. The College Principal, Mr Rees Davis, says on the school website "who you are speaks louder than what you say" and the students and staff have indeed brought those words to life by

Jar of Jelly Beans Provides New Equipment

One of our newer players recently embarked on his own fund raising effort to support our programme. Ben Grice ran a competition to guess the number of jelly beans in a jar - resulting in Rollerblaze being able to purchase 10 new basketballs. Ben, a student at King's College and a player with a promising future in our sport, is to be congratulated on his initiative and commitment. Thanks Ben.

Rotary Club of Mudgeeraba Supports Rollerblaze

The Rotary Club of Mudgeeraba - via their Milsy Foundation, recently made a generous donation to Rollerblaze after hearing players Ed Milner and Ben Noonan speak about their basketball experiences. 2013 National League Games in Brisbane

Maurice Blackburn Corporate Challenge
